9-Day Safari: Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara & Lake Naivasha

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Begin your safari with a hotel or airport pick-up in Nairobi in the early morning. Drive south to Amboseli National Park, passing through scenic Maasai lands with game drives en route to your lodge or camp for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, spotting elephants, wildebeests, buffalos, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, monkeys, and rare bird species. In the early evening, the clouds often clear to reveal the stunning snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge, Satao Elerai Camp, or Oltukai Lodge. Day 2: Full-Day Amboseli Safari

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. This park, often called an animal paradise, offers excellent wildlife viewing, including large elephant herds and diverse birdlife. Optionally, visit a Maasai village to learn about their rich culture (additional cost). Conclude the day with dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge, Satao Elerai Camp, or Oltukai Lodge. Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart Amboseli for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, explore the park on a game drive to view flamingos, pelicans, white and black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, waterbucks, and other wildlife. The lake’s forested areas attract a wide variety of birds, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge, Flamingo Hill Tented Camp, or Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve

Start the day with an early morning game drive before breakfast, then drive along the Great Rift Valley, passing the extinct volcano of Mount Longonot en route to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy game drives along the way before reaching your lodge or camp for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to spot giraffes, elephants, monkeys, leopards, lions, gazelles, and various bird species. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge, Camp Oloshaiki, or Ashnil Mara Camp. Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari

Spend a full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Encounter the Big Five—lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard—alongside wildebeests, zebras, cheetahs, and gazelles. The park’s diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife make for exceptional photography and safari experiences. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight. Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve Safari

Enjoy another full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. Continue searching for the Big Five and other African wildlife while exploring the park’s rolling savannahs, rivers, and woodlands. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge, Camp Oloshaiki, or Ashnil Mara Camp. Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 7: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

After morning game drives and breakfast, depart Masai Mara for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on the lake to view hippos, birds, and other wildlife (optional at extra cost). Continue with an afternoon visit to Hell’s Gate National Park for game viewing, hiking, or cycling. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort or Lake Naivasha Sawela Lodge. Day 8: Lake Naivasha to Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive or exploration of the lake before departing for Nairobi. Stop for lunch en route and arrive at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the late afternoon. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
